The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Considering that most of the SpermVital semen sold in Italy is used on "problem cows" (repeat breeders with difficulties conceiving), the results are even more impressive. SpermVital semen has resulted in good conception rates even in these animals. As Dr. Orlandini, a veterinarian in charge of the breeding program at a dairy farm of 1.200 cows, says "I never saw such great results with standard semen, I’m really satisfied and very happy with SpermVital semen. The results are much better than what I expected".
Revolutionary technology
SpermVital semen is the result of revolutionary new technology and is the culmination of nearly a decade of research. The goal has been to immobilize, or "arrest" the sperm to conserve energy so that the sperm cells remain viable for a longer period of time after insemination. For the farmer this makes timing of insemination less critical and increases the odds of the cow getting pregnant. The SpermVital process successfully combines immobilization with conventional cryopreservation techniques, so that SpermVital semen is stored, distributed and inseminated like conventional semen.
Research collaboration
